---ENG--- The process of transformation that the world, both inner or outer, has to face is complex. Time creates bonds, sediments emotions, creates the illusion of stability. Will you be able to destroy all that when time comes?

"XIII and the burden of the world" is part of a series of works that aims to investigate the meanings and suggestions about the thirteenth Major Arcanum of the Tarot.

As an architectural element, stairs
allow us to move between multiple levels
going up or down a number of steps.

As a universal symbol, stairs represent a transformation.
Through the phases of existence,
the bodily matter takes on intelligent life
and becomes self-aware.

Also civilizations face problems
relating to their own development:
wars, invasions, inequalities, epidemics,
but economic development, technological progress,
redemption opportunity too.

Stairs originated by darkness,
in the deepest unconscious speaking to us
without revealing itself, rise towards
the light, equally unknown and frightening.

We don’t know why we’re on the Stairs
nor why we should strive to walk on them.
While we ask ourselves about that, at every step,
we find distracting obstacles.
And, one again, we loose the ultimate meaning.


---ITA--- Il processo di trasformazione che il mondo, interiore o esteriore, deve affrontare è complicato. Il tempo genera legami, sedimenta emozioni, crea l’illusione della stabilità. Saprai distruggere tutto questo quando sarà il momento?

"XIII e il fardello del mondo" fa parte d'una serie di opere che si pone l'obbiettivo d'indagare i significati e le suggestioni legati al XIII Arcano maggiore dei Tarocchi.

La scala come elemento architettonico
permette di spostarsi fra più livelli,
salendo o scendendo una serie di gradini.

La scala come simbolo universale,
rappresenta una trasformazione.
Attraverso le fasi dell'esistenza, la
materia corporea assume vita intelligente
e prende coscienza di sé.

Anche le civiltà affrontano tutti i problemi
relativi al proprio sviluppo, sperimentando
guerre, invasioni, disparità, epidemie,
ma anche sviluppo economico, progresso
tecnologico, opportunità di riscatto.

Delle scale che hanno origine nel buio,
nell'inconscio più profondo, che ci parla
senza farsi riconoscere, salgono verso
la luce, altrettanto ignota e spaventevole.

Non sappiamo perché ci troviamo sulla Scala
né perché dovremmo sforzarci di percorrerla
e mentre ci interroghiamo su questo, ad ogni
gradino, troviamo ostacoli che ci distolgono.
E il senso ultimo, ancora una volta, ci sfugge.
